Michele Hall (Mrs Young) 1960-1964 More from this intake
I left BGS for Secretarial Training at Northwest Kent College of Technology and also did three A levels there. After working in London for three years, I went to Canada, with my now husband, a Bexley boy, and have been living near Toronto ever since.

I worked as a secretary at the local University, reaching the highest level of administration as an Executive Office in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, a job I thoroughly enjoyed, despite the stresses. During this time, we had two lovely girls, both have degrees now and successful careers. One in accounting, the other a biochemist. I took a university course in computing and became expert in databases and various kinds of software, which I found really helpful in managing a large faculty.

I took early retirement last year to start a new career as a writer. I have three novels published and number four and five under contract, due out over the next ten months. I am about to submit number 6. This is a certainly a dream come true. I certainly never expected to become a writer, or, when I started writing, to become published.

We travel to England every year to see our families. Since I write historical novels I also do a fair amount of research over there. We also travel to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe. Next year we hope to visit Australia.

I loved seeing the picture of everyone again and was surprised at how many names I could put to faces.

Sue Smith (Mrs Nye) 1969-1976 More from this intake
I left BGS in a state of euphoria, having actually passed my A levels, and went to Avery Hill college to commence teacher training. I hated it, and left after three months, going to work for Chiesmans in Lewisham for a short while, and then joining Lloyds TSB in 1977, where I have been ever since. I spent 14 years in a branch, and am now part of the furniture in a department dealing with contract guarantees. I married late in life (office romance I'm afraid!) and having been told I would never be a Mum, our very small and premature daughter arrived when I was 44. Sarah is now nearly six (going on 60) and attends Pelham Primary School in Bexleyheath, where she is doing very well. We share our house with two elderly boy cats, and a three month old female tortoiseshell. The boys don't know what's hit them! I am still in touch with Lynn Webb (now Dickerson) - in fact we recently shared a 50th birthday celebration. I can't believe we have reached that milestone. I still fancy David Cassidy, and recently took Sarah to see the Osmonds! I would really love to hear from anyone in my year, I have such happy memories. Maybe in six years I'll be back as a parent, who knows! Email: SueNye__SMN9@hotmail.co.uk Jun 2008

I was going to be a librarian but during my gap year, I woke up and changed to a business degree at Ox Poly. I had the best time there, keeping in touch with Andy Norman and Stu Wentworth for a while. Worked in travel and airlines for several years. After 2 daughters I am now working at their school as...a librarian! Would love to hear from the class of 76 especially as we are doing the uni visits and I think about where everyone went to. Email: jrosehill@hotmail.co.uk May 2008
